It is possible to use sympatico (adsl & pppoe). The simplest way I could
think of to setup adsl on redhat 8.0 is to download
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/p/pppoeconf/pppoeconf_0.9.10.6.tar.gz

extract it *(tar -xvzf pppoeconf_0.9.10.6.tar.gz) and as root execute
the script named pppoeconf in the pppoeconf-0.9.10.6 directory. Once you
execute it, it should setup everything so you can access the net using
your adsl connection.

Note that this is probably not the best way to do it on redhat as there
are probably configuration tools which I don't know of but it will allow
you to get your internet working and will not damage your system even if
it's a debian tool on redhat! :)

Good Luck!
