Le dimanche 24 juillet 2005, Fernanda Weiden sera de passage à Montréal pour ouvrir une rencontre portant sur le thème «Femmes et logiciels libres». L'événement est organisé par le FACIL, pour l'appropriation collective de l'informatique libre, le réseau Koumbit, le Laboratoire de Communication Médiatisée par Ordinateur (LabCMO) et Communautique. La venue de Fernanda Weiden, activiste au sein de la communauté du Logiciel Libre au Brésil, depuis 1998, nous a inspiré le thème de cette conférence. Impliquée à l'organisation de la première rencontre femmes et logiciel libre au Brésil, en 2003, elle a depuis fondé « Projeto Software Livre-Mulheres », un projet ayant pour objectif de travailler auprès des organisations de femmes afin de débattre sur les besoins et la participation de celles-ci dans le domaine des technologies de l'information et des communications (TIC) et plus particulièrement du logiciel libre. Sa contribution s'inscrit dans un processus d'intégration sociale, dans le milieu de logiciel libre au Brésil. Sa participation auprès du projet Debian (distribution GNU/Linux) et à la « Free Software Foundation Latin America » ouvrira la rencontre sur son expérience en Amérique Latine. Cet événement est d'ailleurs la première étape d'un objectif à moyen terme de créer un collectif « Femmes et logiciel libre » à Montréal. Il sera l'occasion de mettre en contact les personnes du Québec intéressées à participer à sa création. Durant la présentation, les participantes et les participants pourrons donc cerner les enjeux du libre au travers de ces thèmes: les femmes et le développement de logiciels libres, les femmes et l'accès à la formation des TIC, l'intégration sociale et numérique, les usages participatifs (réseaux citoyens et solidarité) et modèles d'appropriation du libre, les préoccupations de l'environnement social et paradigmes de développement local. La présentation sera suivie d'une Table ronde où nos invitées investies dans différents domaines (développement, éducation, TI au Québec) nous feront part de leur expérience. Aussi se tiendra une discussion et une présentation de livres et documents sur le libre. La journée «Femmes et logiciels libres» se tiendra le dimanche 24 juillet 2005, de 12h à 16h. The coming of Fernanda Weiden, activist within the Free Software community in Brazil since 1998, has inspired the topic of this conference. Involved in organizing the first women and free software meeting of Brazil in 2003, she has since founded "Projeto Software Livre-Mulheres", a project having the objective to work along organizations of women in order to debate their needs and their participation in the domain of information and communication technologies (ICT) and particularly of free software. Her contribution falls under a process of social integration in the field of free software in Brazil. Her participation in the Debian project (GNU/Linux distribution) and in the "Free Software Foundation of Latin America" will open the meeting on her experience in Latin America. This event is actually the first step of a medium term objective to create a "Women and Free Software" collective in Montreal. This will be an occasion to gather the people of Quebec interested to participate in its creation. During the presentation, the participants will have the opportunity to determine the stakes of free software through these topics: women and the development of free software, women and the access to training for ICT, social and digital integration, participative uses (network citizens and solidarity) and appropriation models of free software, concerns of the social environment and paradigms of local development. The presentation will be followed by a roundtable where our guests invested in different domains (development, education and IT in Quebec) will share their experience. There will also be a discussion and presentation of books and documents about free software. The "Women and Free Software" day will be held on Sunday July 24th 2005, between 12h and 16h.
