Hi,
I'm running 8.1. The keyboard worked fine at first (I "think"!), but now,
for some reason and without my having done anything special, the AltCar key
just won't work under X - it works fine if I switch to a shell, though not
to an xterm.
As a result, I can't produce characters such as 'commercial at', curly
brackets, square brackets, tilde or a number of accented characters -
definitely a nuisance.
I remember going round such a problem by reconfiguring keys (using
xkeycaps, if I recall), but that feels like a kludge and I'd much rather
fix it properly (besides, one of the things I loved about Mandrake - coming
from Red Hat - was that they got my keyboard right).
Can somebody think of something?
Thanks.
