J'ai installé LinuxPPC R5 1999 sur un PowerMac 7200/120 en me servant
de l'installateur RedHat. L'autre installateur n'a pas fait le travail.
Je n'arrive pas à démarrer un serveur X11. Le moniteur est un
"Apple Multiple Scan 17 Display" (c'est écrit en arrière).
J'ai utilisé Xconfigurator et j'y ai sélectionné ce moniteur,
dont le nom apparait tel quel dans le menu. J'ai ensuite
sélectionné un seul mode, 640x480x8, le plus faible. (De toute
facon, ca ne fonctionne pas plus avec d'autres modes.)
X refuse de démarrer cependant. Il rejette tous les modes graphiques
en affirmant qu'ils requièrent une fréquence hsync non disponible.
Pourtant, la ligne HorizSync du fichier XF86Config présente des
fréquences suffisantes pour au moins une partie de ces modes.
Ce qui suit est un extrait du fichier /etc/X11/XF86Config
concernant le moniteur et l'adapteur graphique "OFfb platinum".
Ensuite, il y a un extrait de la sortie de la commande X -probeonly.
Quelqu'un aurait-t-il un fichier XF86Config fonctionnel pour
cet équipement?
Hier, j'ai essayé l'installateur "natif" de LinuxPPC, qui fonctionne
en mode graphique. Ca a installé un système dont il manquait plusieurs
packages importants, dont telnet, ou encore lynx que j'avais explicitement
sélectionné... Cependant, le serveur X11 démarrait (bien que seulement
sous root à cause d'un problème d'authentification).
C'est un CD-ROM officiel acheté chez Camelot hier.
